Oh, the Game Boy Printer. You gotta love technology that is so ahead of its time that it's practically useless. Somehow, it got added to the Doctor Who TARDIS design. And I love it. There's been talk about that production wrapping up for the summer seeing that time is fairly constrained. I guess that means that I'm going to have to burn all of my lovely behind-the-scenes stuff and tuck it away somewhere until then. It surely is pretty amazing how quickly time can fly if given the opportunity. Speaking of technology, it's the time to be cell phone shopping. Because I'm more into looking at those little miracles of portability, I've noticed that the newest lines of phones are pretty terrible. Razrs (well, Motorola's whole line), sliding phones, double-sided phones... they're all ugly. No one phone is a stand out for me. The exception to this rule is the Sony Ericsson line of things. And I don't know if I'm necessarily attracted to them rather than ...

Above are the first round of cast photos for Doctor Who: Open Wounds. There are others floating around Facebook and Flickr if you're particularly interested. You'll note the pretty logos that Trevor provided me... it should probably be on all the production stills, but these ones are more publicity-oriented, so they get the royal treatment - including some pretty decent Photoshopping on my part. You'll also note the pretty guns, pretty sonic screwdrivers, pretty lab coats, and pretty vests that everyone has. Props are the best. Costuming... second best. Somehow, I managed to do those despite the amazing heat. I felt much like an apple pie in an oven as my house, air-conditionedless, was roasting - I guess at this point I should note that I know that pies bake, but I didn't feel much like saying, "I felt much like a slab of beef." It's super-late, but I figured I should keep up my streak of posting once every sleep cycle. Today wasn't particularly interesting up until the evening, when I went to go help out behind the scenes filming (without a tripod!) my friends' Doctor Who film . While I spent most of my time with the motion camera, I managed to get several wonderful production stills. We managed to take a few quick publicity shots of the cast, both individual and group, but I haven't had a chance to really check them out yet. I hope we get to do more of them with varied poses and angles and lighting, because it is a lot of fun - if only just because people actually pose for me! I've never been involved in a project like this, nor have I ever done camera work - let alone been a director of photography - but so far, this project has been ...
