023 - Philosophy Builds Confidence

Photos: Waiting at a bus stop for a bus that never came, pocket devices, usb, vie morte, renewing health card, downtown Ottawa, philosophy builds confidence. Where does time go? The year is almost over, the month is almost over, the day is winding down, and I can't say that I've had any time to do that which I need: school assignments, mostly. What I want? I want to watch the Heroes episode that I missed, I want to play DDR and Super Metroid and Metroid Prime 3. Instead, my gaming is relegated to portable bliss in 10-minute intervals. Guess I can't complain because the new Phoenix Wright is... well, like the previous two. And I love it. Zelda Phantom Hourglass was a mixed bag for me. Loved the controls, not so much the lack of game. Maybe it was just too short. On the plus side, I did work more than was expected over the past few days. It's a fun time to be doing shipment because we are still getting in all the new stuff for the holidays. I must have moved 300 snow glob

022 - Me, Wii, and Tee Vee

Dance Dance Revolution now for Wii Night time Jack Skellington, what a stud. Jack Sparrow, Mighty Pirate Slackers with a view (without heads?) What happens if you ever eat a rotten lemon What happens if you have your birthday at Lonestar, as my manager did last weekend. That isn't her. Someone thought the escalator was sick. I hope! Mario can't come soon enough! I'm sleeping on the bus. Sleep-photography is a hidden skill of mine. Television. For the first time in a number of years, I feel like this fall has a number of interesting shows. How ironic that I don't have the time to watch any of them. It's surprising how little the tv landscape has changed, despite all the HD this and widescreen that. Sure, DVD-RW, PVR, and TiVo have just about replaced the "when I was a kid" blank videotapes (or tape over the tab if you're in dire need) - and they've certainly added some functionality - but I just don't understand why everything in 2007 isn't

021 - A Month in a post

Christmas displays at the beginning of September I'm on a bus that was so late that the next bus was right behind us. And that guy thought I was taking his picture. It's a little known scientific fact that the sun can push the clouds away. My cousin footballing. A bunch of kids footballing. The dark side of the mall. Who is Mang? I buy Dasani Lemon water every time I work. THE UGLY DOME! It looks half decent in this shot, though. A vending machine that doesn't believe in junk food. Squirt and me. Military style! I'm sooo into The Jungle Book right now. Miracle photo, perhaps? It's just a plain reflection off a window! Out with work friends, bowling. Bowling crazy! Then some of us went to play pool. Pool partners. This past weekend, I went out with some coworkers for a night of bowling and pool. It took me so long to get to bowling (missing a bus, missing a stop, being at the wrong stop, etc) that I didn't get to bowl much. A few people let me take a frame here a

020 - Once Upon a Dream

I wish I hadn't needed to go to class so early this morning - ground level fog rolled in the fields and the sun shone through the breaking clouds onto the colourful, fall trees. And all I had was a quick second to snap a photo with my cell phone camera from an open bus window. Hardly does justice to the fall scenes. Ironically, if I didn't have to go to school, I would have never seen it! Last night, I had a really strange and vivid dream. There had been a huge sandstorm across the city, covering it with a foot of sand. The place was deserted with the exception of me in my house. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. A woman with long, blond hair and aviator sunglasses, accompanied by two children, were standing outside. "FBI!" she said. I asked for her ID; she presented me with a small, fake-looking badge and her information. She then asked me if we could exchange video cameras. Supposedly, she wanted my video cam despite the fact that it was old compared to her s

019 - To Vote and Vote Not

Yesterday was democracy at work - and it smelled dusty and stale, not unlike the smell I imagine lingering around attics or retirement homes. Fortunately, democracy was also bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. How impressive! There was a provincial election in Ontario, one the Liberals won again. There was also a referendum, so I gave my opinion on a mixed member proportional system of government. My poll station found itself this time around in an old, small nearby church, one in which I've never been - nor really had a desire to visit (surprisingly, I don't have any pictures of it on flickr and i didn't have my camera with me yesterday). I was impressed at how big it is, compared to how small it looks from the outside. Inside, I was surprised to find signs of life, little clues that people actually visit - books, art, names painted and quilted together by children. In movies, I saw Resident Evil Apocalypse recently. It was better than i expected. I enjoyed
